日本东北大学五十子幸树教授访问同济大学

        2018年3月23日,邀请日本东北大学国际灾害研究所Kohju IKAGO 教授到同济大学访问并做题为“Displacement Control Design Concept for Low-frequency Structures— Design Strategies for High-rise and Seismic Isolated Structures Subjected to Strong Ground Motion ”的报告。

       报告内容为After the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, one of the issues attracting particular attention is that excessive displacements in longperiod structures such as high-rise and seismic isolated buildings might occur owing to low-frequency components of massive earthquakes. Although the excessive displacement does not necessarily cause structural damage, the excessive displacement itself is harmful. It is considered to be effective to incorporate some damping devices that control vibrations in direct response to the response displacement.

       The authors define this concept as “displacement control design” and have developed some control strategies and devices implementing it. This lecture outlines the basic concept of displacement control design and the mechanisms and application of newly developed dampers.
